We were doing a show when a man came up to us and introduced himself as Manager of a "Fast Fit" centre. He related this story.
They had dip tested a customers brake fluid and advised him that it needed changing. They did the job using "DOT" rated 'glycol fluid from their stock.
When the customer came to collect his car the manager proudly dip tested the 'new' fluid only to discover - to his horror - the 'new' fluid was in a worse condition than the stuff they had taken out. Red faces all round. You only get what you inspect not what you expect!.
This is because glycol brake fluid deteriorates with age even on the shelf, whereas Automec Silicone Brake Fluid does not!
